Regulatory oversight
The Business Committee, serving as the elected body of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Rocky Boy’s Reservation, appointed a respected industry expert as Commissioner of the Tribal Consumer Protection Bureau (“TCPB”). The TCPB is the official regulatory office that oversees all lending activity on Rocky Boy’s Reservation.
The TCPB Commissioner brings over twenty-five years of regulatory and financial experience. The Commissioner served as a State Bank Commissioner for twelve years. Prior to his appointment as a State Commissioner, he had been a State Director of Examinations for the Division of Banking. During his tenure with the Division, assets held by state-chartered banks and trust companies increased from $12 billion to over $40 billion. The Commissioner’s previous regulatory experience includes nine years with a Federal Home Loan Bank as a Supervisory Agent, and subsequently an Assistant Regional Director of the Office of Thrift Supervision. Earlier in the Commissioner’s career, he served as Vice President and Controller of a $200 million financial institution.
